Sveshtari Thracian Tomb

     The north end of the Eastern burial mound necropolis of Sboryanovo Reserve has been thoroughly investigated. Three stone tombs with half-tubular arches are placed near to one another. They were built in the end of 4th and the beginning of 3rd century BC. The first one, Sveshtari Tomb, is a unique monument of Thracian tomb architecture. The extraordinary architecture and picturesque ornaments drew out Sveshtari Tomb in the list of the world cultural-historical heritage of UNESCO.

     Exhibition: A stone tomb with half-tubular arch, which was built in the end of 4th and the beginning of the 3rd century BC. It is discovered in 1982 under Ginina Mound, which is a part of the Eastern burial mound necropolis. The tomb is a unique monument of Thracian sepulchral architecture with its extraordinary construction and picturesque ornaments. Two skeletons are discovered in the burial chamber – of a young man and a woman. The archaeologists consider that the dead are Gettian`s king Dromichite and his wife.
