Hunting

     Organized hunting in Bulgaria has been regulated by law since the end of 19th century. Numerous forest and hunting farms and reserves are preserving significant game population. Among most popular trophy hunts are red stag, wild boar, roebuck, chamois, mouflon, fallow stag, capercailzie, brown bear, wolf, bird shooting. There are also bow hunting opportunities.


     More than 2000 people come hunting in Bulgaria annually which makes the country one of the European leaders in that aspect. More than 110 huts and hunters’ lodges provide allotment all over the country.


     On entering Bulgaria for hunting, tourists should supply the customs with two documents: permit for using firearms and permit for hunting from the country of residence. In Bulgaria he should acquire hunting permit paid in euro and all the necessary protocols and customs’ declarations.


     Every traveler has the chance to choose among eight separate hunting regions in the country in the open season.
