The International Cinema Festival "Love is folly" has been found in the very beginning of Bulgaria’s transition to market economy – in 1993. Even though there were many difficulties ahead of it, the festival is already an important institution in Bulgarian culture and spirit. Today it has acquired its place as one of the leading events in Bulgarian cultural live.

     "Love is folly" is the first and for quite a long time only international movie festival in the country. Annually its program involves 50-60 international captions, movie reviews, international competition, schools and cinematographic reviews, retrospectives of Bulgarian cinema. More than 200 guests from abroad and renowned Bulgarian cinematographers attend the event. Love is in the air, love does not age, it keeps us young and beautiful – those are some of the credos of the festival.
