Day 1

Arrival at Sofia airport and transfer to the hotel for accommodation. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 2

Breakfast. Transfer to the architectural reserve of Arbanassi, famous for its beautiful houses resembling small fortresses, and St. Mary monastery. Here we start our cycling tour. We will visit the picturesque Transfiguration Monastery near Veliko Tarnovo. Then we will reach the beautiful Hotnitsa waterfall and eco trail. After a short walk we continue biking near Hotnista gorge to the main road to Sofia. You get on the car for short transfer and start biking again to Buria (Storm) village, located among beautiful hilly landscapes with nice views to Dryanovo rock formations. We finish cycling near the town of Dryanovo. Overall cycling distance for the day: 34 km. Program continues with sightseeing tour in Veliko Tarnovo. Transfer back to St. Mary monastery in Arbanassi. Dinner and overnight in Arbanassi.

Day 3

Breakfast. Transfer to Dragizhevo village where you start biking. En route you pass by Merdanski Monastery and continue towards Plakovo and Kapinovo Monastery. Tour finishes in the peaceful Kapinovo Monastery. Overall cycling distance for the day: 33 km (or 53 km with possible extension). Dinner in the lovely monastery yard of Kapinovo Monastery and overnight.

Day 4

Breakfast. After short transfer you start cycling through the villages Plakovo, Golemanite and Natsovtsi to Kilifarevo Monastery. In the early afternoon – visit to Kilifarevo Monastery and then we continue with a short but challenging ascent to Yalovo village. Then you cycle along Dryanovska River to Dryanovo. Overall cycling distance for the day – 34 km. Transfer to Dryanovo Monastery and free time with optional visit of the nearby Bacho Kiro Cave. Dinner and overnight at Dryanovo Monastery.

Day 5

Breakfast. Short transfer and then we start cycling up and down to Bozhentsi village where we will spend some time for sightseeing. After a short transfer back you start cycling before Tsareva livada village on isolated village roads to the beautiful Revival town of Tryavna. Overall cycling distance for the day – 35 km. Dinner and overnight in Tryavna.

Day 6

Breakfast. Cycling from Tryavna up to a mountain pass and then downhill to Gabrovo. The next stop is the open-air ethnographic museum of Etara. Its 18-th-19-th century water driven machinery, crafts and lifestyle come alive before the eyes of the visitors. From here you have four more kilometers to the picturesque Sokolski Monastery and cycling back to Etara. Overall cycling distance for the day – 28 km. Dinner and overnight in Etara.

Day 7

Breakfast with typical Bulgarian pastries at Gabrovo. Transfer to the historic Shipka pass and memorial. You get on the bikes for a 10 km up/down ride through beautiful beech forest to the historic area of Buzludzha. A supreme downhill ride on the Southern slopes of the mountains awaits us. We continue biking to Shipka town where we visit the richly decorated Shipka Monastery, built in the traditional style of 17-th century Russian churches. Overall cycling distance for the day – 30 km. Transfer to Sofia, accommodation and overnight.

Day 8

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and departure.
