Day 1

Arrival in Sofia. Meeting the guide and transfer to the hotel. Half day city tour of Sofia - St. George Rotunda (4th century), St. Sophia Church, Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral, Parliament Square, National Theatre. Visit of St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the Russian Church, the ruins of Ancient Serdica. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the city of Plovdiv – European capital of culture 2019, Bulgaria's second most important city (2 hours’ drive, 150 km). Check-in at hotel. Guided walking tour in the Old town of Plovdiv – the Roman theatre dating from the I century A.D., the Roman Stadium, Djumaya Mosque, St. Constantine and Helena Church, the Ethnographic Museum, etc. Free time. Overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 3

Breakfast. Morning departure for the Valley of Roses. In the season - photo break at the beautiful rose yards. Visit to the unique Thracian Tomb included in UNESCO world heritage list. Visit to the Rose Museum. Drive to the Black Sea Coast. Arrival in the late afternoon in Nessebar area. Check-in at hotel. Free time. Overnight in Nessebar/Sunny Beach.

Day 4

Breakfast. Half day tour of Nessebar. Walking tour in the Old town included in UNESCO world heritage list. The tour includes walk around the medieval churches, architectural masterpieces preserving the long history of this magnificent town. In the afternoon, free time for sunbathing at the beach or a walk along the central promenade in the best and biggest Bulgarian Black sea resort – Sunny Beach. Overnight in Nessebar/ Sunny Beach.

Day 5

Breakfast. Free day for time at leisure. Overnight in Nessebar/ Sunny Beach.

Day 6

Breakfast. Check-out and departure for Varna area. Panoramic sightseeing tour in Varna – the cathedral Assumption of the Virgin, Sea Garden, Archaeological Museum, National Naval Museums, etc. Free afternoon for beach and time at leisure or optional half day tour to Balchik with the famous Queen Mary's Palace and its unique Botanical Gardens. Overnight in Varna area.

Day 7

Breakfast. Check-out and departure for Veliko Tarnovo. On the way photo break at the natural phenomenon "Pobitite kamani" (Planted stones). Arrival in Veliko Tarnovo around noon. Check-in at hotel and short rest. Sightseeing tour of Veliko Tarnovo including a visit of Tsarevets Hill. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 8

Breakfast. Drive to the village of Arbanassi for a visit of Konstantsalieva House and the church Birth of Christ. Drive to Sofia in the afternoon. Accommodation and free time. Dinner at traditional restaurant with folklore music and dances. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 9

Breakfast. Departure for Rila Monastery - the most exquisite example of monastery art and architecture in Bulgaria. Visit of Nativity of the Virgin Church with its miraculous icon of the Virgin and splendid gilded iconostasis, the Monastery kitchen, the museum, keeping the long and heroic history of the monastery, the wonderful wood-carved cross made for a period of twelve years by a monk called Rafael, Hrelyu's Tower. Drive back to Sofia. Upon entering Sofia visit to the mediaeval Boyana Church, included in UNESCO world heritage list. This Orthodox place is one of the most completely and perfectly preserved monuments of European medieval art. The frescoes in the church, painted in 1259, make it one of the most important collections of medieval paintings. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 10

Breakfast. Check-out, transfer to Sofia Airport and departure.
