Day 1

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation. Time at leisure. Optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Sofia. 

Day 2

Breakfast. City tour in Sofia – visit to Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral – one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in Europe, as well as one of Sofia’s symbols and a primary tourist attraction, St. Sophia Basilica, National Theatre, St. George Rotunda, the Mosque, etc. Free time in the city centre and main shopping area around Vitosha Boulevard. Transfer to Plovdiv. On the way – optional visit to Villa Yustina Winery. Accommodation and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 3

Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of PlovdivEuropean capital of culture 2019. Walk in the old town, including the Roman Ancient Theatre, which was built in the 1st century AD and is nowadays considered to be the largest surviving Roman construction in Bulgaria, visit to the Ethnographic Museum, Roman Stadium, St. Constantine and Helena Church, etc. In the afternoon – trip to Bachkovo monastery, one of the most famous Bulgarian Orthodox holy places and second largest monastery in the country. Sightseeing of the complex with its three churches and magnificent scenery. Return to Plovdiv and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Plovdiv. 

Day 4

Breakfast. Check out and departure for the beautiful town of Veliko Tarnovo. On the way stop for a visit to the Valley of Roses and the town of Kazanlak, famous for the Thracian tomb included in UNESCO world heritage list. Continue through Shipka pass for a short break at the ethnographic open-air museum of Etara. Arrival in Veliko Tarnovo in the evening. Accommodation and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 5

Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Veliko Tarnovo with a visit to Tsarevets Medieval Fortress located on a picturesque hill in the town centre, Samovodska Charshiya Street market, etc. Drive to the nearby village of Arbanassi – an architectural reserve famous for its well preserved 17th and 18th century churches and the typical Revival architecture of the houses. In the afternoon departure for Sofia. Accommodation and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Sofia. 

Day 6

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and departure.
