"Domaine Boyar" is established in 1991 and performs its business simultaneously in Sofia and in London. In the course of several years it became a leading commercial company trading in Bulgarian wines, with considerable contribution to their promotion on the prestigious markets in Western Europe, USA, Canada and Japan. In 1992 Domaine Boyar obtained the consent of Tsar Simeon II to put the regal family's coat of arms on wines selected, traded and later on produced by Domaine Boyar. This laid the beginning of the prestigious Tsar Selection of the company.
In 1998 was approved an ambitious project for modernization of the plants of Domaine Boyar in Shumen and Yambol and for construction of a new plant in Sliven. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Investment Fund "Barings Central European Investment" and the Dutch company Baarsma Dranken were attracted as investors. After the construction of one of the most modern wine cellars in Europe - Sinite Skali in Sliven and the modernization of the existing plants, Domaine Boyar AD is able now to produce high quality wines, meeting the international standards.
At the end of 2000 "Domaine Boyar" LTD and its associated English company Boyar International Limited merged with Vinprom Ruse AD, owned by the American company Seaboard Corporation. The newly established company Boyar Estates is the biggest producer and exporter of Bulgarian wines for the western markets. In the recent years the company started to develop actively also the East European markets.
