Selected from the collections: The most remarkable monument in the reserve is Madara horseman – a rock bas-relief, carved into the rock face at a height of 23 m representing a horseman, a running hound, a lion and inscriptions. The inscriptions around it, written in Greek, present the feats of three Bulgarian khans – Òårvel, Krumesis and Omourtag. The Madara horseman is announced by UNESCO to be a monument of world importance. The visitors can see in the region: pagan sanctuaries, Christian churches, chapels.
