Åxhibition: The complex is situated at a distance of 8 km south from Gabrovo and includes 47 sites – houses, craftsmen’s workshops, technical equipment relating to water, places of public importance from the National Revival Period. The exhibition spreads over an area of 7 hectares. The residential buildings are set up at the “craftsmen bazaar”. The museum is an operating cultural monument. The exhibition shows the architecture, everyday life and economics of Gabrovo in the second half of the 18th and the 19th century.
Main collections in stock: Equipment of the workshops with original instruments and devices, ceramics, fabrics, silver, copper, wood-carvings, icons, traditional costumes, etc.
Selected from the collections: Technical equipment operating on water, different crafts, musical instruments, guns, etc.
Documentation: Scientific archive related to the construction of the sites, museum scientific archives, card-indices.
Publications: Bulletin of the “Etur” museum, “National Culture of the Mountaineers” Bulletin.
Branches and annexes: Sokolski monastery, “Bozhentsi” Architectural and Historic Reserve, the Gabrovo museums, Tryavna and its splendid museum complex.
Services: Excursions within the complex and to neighboring sites, guided tours and lectures in Russian, English, German and French. Traditional holidays celebrations are organized for Palm Sunday, Midsummer Day, St. George`s Day and Petkovden (Petko`s Day). There is an open air folklore theatre, demonstrations of popular folk dances, etc.
Facilities: Hotel “Inn” - a day bar, a restaurant, a tavern and a hall for temporary exhbitions. The workshops offer souvenirs and other miscellaneous articles. The museum has several separate stands, a shop for souvenirs and museum publications.
