Åxhibition: Prehistory, Antiquity, Middle Ages, Permanent exhibition of icons from the National Revival Museum (16th – 19th century).
Main collections in stock: The museum possesses one of the richest funds in the country, consisting of 80 000 exponents of the human art and living conditions, connected with Varna`s history and the region.
Selected from the collections: The oldest gold treasure in the world (5th -6th millennium BC), a collection of antique golden jewels (5th c. BC – 6th c. AD), the biggest collection of antique terracotta, sculptures and relieves in Bulgaria (5thc. BC – 6thc. AD), the biggest collections of antique glass vessels and antique clay lamps in Bulgaria (6th c. BC – 7thc. AD), the biggest collection of bronze belt decorations (7th – 14th century), the biggest collection of golden and silver jewels and belts on the Balkans (8th – 14th century).
Documentation: Archive fund, plans, photos, drafts, slides and videofilms.
Publications: Popular scientific publications, participation in the “News of the National Museum - Varna” yearbook.
Branches and annexes: The Roman Baths, Àladzha Monastery, the church from the early-Christian period in Dzhanavara area (V-VI century) - 4 êm to the south of Varna, the medieval fortress “Petrich Kale” (XII – XIV century) - 15 êm to the south-west of Varna.
Services: Periodic exhibitions of archaeological materials on various themes, applies arts, art and photo exhibition, applied archaeology – demonstrations in the Training Museum; general and specialized lectures and video-film shows.
Facilities: A cafeteria offering cooked food, a stand for souvenirs and books, a video hall for conferences, a reception hall, two halls for different style temporary exhibitions.
